Artist’s Statement

Elizabeth Harding

 

I have lived in Maine all of my life and would not be happy far from the ocean.  I grew up in Eastport, Maine and now I live in Lamoine, Maine with my husband, Bill.  We have three children and two grandchildren.  I grew up with a natural talent to draw.  I started painting in my 20’s after taking a few adult education art classes.  This hobby was put aside for a number of years while we raised our family.   Since then, I have studied under well known artists, exhibited locally,  been featured on WABI-TV news, and have my work in private collections in many states across the country.

 

My medium of choice is oils; however, I do some work in acrylics and watercolors.  I paint mainly from my own photographs or from photographs others have commissioned me to paint.  I enjoy painting portraits, animal portraits, seascapes, landscapes, birds, flowers, and anything that interests me. 

 

My works may be seen at the Flying Mountain Artisans Gallery in Southwest Harbor throughout the year.
